The XIII International Congress of Formative Evaluation in Education (in Portuguese XIII Congresso Internacional de Avaliação Formativa em Educação - CIAFE) of the Red de Evaluación Formativa y Compartida en Educación (REFYCE) will take place for the first time outside Spanish territory, organised by the Faculty of Sport Sciences and Physical Education of the University of Coimbra (FCDEFUC), Portugal, on the 10th, 11th and 12th of September 2020.
REFYCE, created in 2005, has aiming to innovate university teaching in Spain, through the development of research cycles, which is why one of the objectives of this edition is to reside it at the Iberian level.
In this sense, it is intended that this international congress is a moment of presentation and sharing of results of new pedagogical experiences or of research studies in teaching, in all levels and disciplinary areas, so its agglutinating theme is: Good Practices of Formative Assessment in All Educational Stages.
FCDEFUC, as the host of this event, welcomes all participants.

On behalf of the University of Coimbra, the Faculty of Sport Sciences and Physical Education and the Organising and Scientific Committee of this event, I am pleased to invite you to participate in the XIII International Congress of Formative Evaluation in Education, which will take place in Coimbra, September 10-12, 2020.
This initiative, carried out annually by the Red de Evaluación Formativa y Compartida en Educación (REFYCE), is aimed at teacher, educators and scientists in the field of Educational Sciences who are interested in the specific theme of formative assessment and its importance in the educational context. This congress has a main objective to promote the knowledge and the dissemination of experiences and studies related to the formative assessment in education, considered as a fundamental piece for the development of better and greater learning in the educational context.
The University of Coimbra, the oldest Portuguese university and one of the oldest at European level, recognised in 2013 as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, through its young Faculty, is honoured to have been selected to organise, for the first time outside the neighbouring country, Spain, such an important event in the context of education, thus contributing, with the first step towards the expansion of this network, in a first phase to an Iberian context and in the future, to the Latin-American context, thus contributing to its full internationalisation. The choice of the University of Coimbra and the FCDEF is certainly the result of the recognition of the work carried out, within the scope of this specific theme, by some elements of its Faculty, over 28 years of its existence.
We invite all colleagues and students to participate in this event, which we are preparing with the utmost attention and detail, so that we can offer everyone an excellent scientific program and a good logistical framework, which will provide to all participants moments of pleasant interaction and relevant exchange of experiences and knowledge.
